Morning Routine

  1. Host a morning meeting

  2. Go over plan/goal for the day

  3. Delegate tasks to all team members

  4. Ask and go over any questions there might be

  5. Give yourself a task that you are capable of doing while still being able to routinely look over everyone’s safety and quality of work.

    Tips to successfully accomplish this:

-Try to position yourself where everyone else is working or at least where you can see everyone

-Make sure you don’t give yourself a task that requires constant attention because if you have to go help/explain something it holds everyone else up

-Try to focus on prep-work to stay out in front of the guys, this helps you keep them producing and also ensures that you are able to catch any issues that may come up long before anything is built and time to think to make sure nothing is missed.

End of the day check list

  1. Make plan for tomorrow

  2. Check material required to meet plan/goal for next day

  3. Check nail/ tool supplies to meet plan/goal for next day

  4. Check tool count to prevent leaving tools out

Reminders

  1. Allways call if not 100% sure about something

  2. Everyone’s mistakes become your mistakes

  3. Allways study the plans the night before starting a new project/job/section. This helps you get to know the job and catch every little detail that could be missed on the job or plan out tasks for everyone

  4. It’s always easier and less work to finish everything you can in one area as you go rather than come back to it, that’s also how you end up forgetting about something) example; Holddowns, straps, blocking
